Igor Bekkerman (b.1926) spent his early career in the artistic center of Sochi, on the Black Sea. In 1955 he won first prize in an art competition, and was commissioned to sculpt a monument to the writer Nikolai Ostrovsky for the main public square. He works in wood and Bronze, and many of his works can be compared in spirit to the satirical bronzes of Daumier, and

technically to the work of P. Trubetskoy and R. Bugatti. He is participating in the exhibition of the State Russian Museum entitled Russian Artists in America. His work can be found in museums and private and corporate collection in Russia and the West. |
